I love working at ISR because I get to help provide a dynamic and exciting environment where student-athletes build strength through hard work, cooperation, and teamwork. The sense of school spirit and community that comes with organizing and overseeing sports events adds an extra layer of satisfaction to my roles as both coach and teacher. I am privileged to work every day with kind, enthusiastic and hardworking adults and students at ISR.

ISR is a small but strong community, and everyone says good morning, interacts and smiles, it makes coming to school a happy place to work. The school values being outside in all weathers, children are taught to dress for the seasons, move and enjoy nature from planting and growing, to going to the forest. Children are valued for their individuality, we try to work with children’s strengths to build on them and use this to build confidence to work on areas that they find more challenging.

The International School of Riga is a welcoming community with staff and students from all over the world come together to share a variety of stories and experiences into their learning.
Being an IB school, our staff and students embody the IB learner profile in their daily lives and we see caring, balanced and responsible young adults developing into global citizens. The curriculum gives students great breadth to ensure they maintain and develop a range of knowledges and skills whilst also giving depth in their learning by exploring topics through inquiry based approaches.

ISR is truly a community of learning where every student is happy to study and grow. The people of ISR are at the heart of school life and we bond in many ways, be it a hard long day at work or a festive celebration like Latvian Independence Day or Jani. A sense of belonging and support is felt in every corner of the school and I am lucky to have had ISR as my second family for the past 6,5 years.
