My name is Amanda Champany worked with SEN, EAL, and Gifted and Talented students in the United States, Korea, Egypt, China, and Latvia. Last year, I was the SENCO for both ISR campuses, but this year I am based only at Secondary. I approach inclusion through the lens of cognitive load theory and executive functioning, which affect SEN and EAL students in very similar ways. I seek to understand students’ missing skills in order to help them be their best selves in terms of behaviors, academics, and social development. I have an MEd from the University of New Mexico, a certificate in supporting learners with dyslexia from the BDA, and two post-baccalaureate certificates from Landmark College Institute of Research and Training.
