The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme
By Sarah McGinley, IBDP Coordinator
ISR is currently a candidate school for the Diploma Programme*. This school is pursuing authorisation as an IB World School. IB World Schools share a common philosophy – a commitment to high-quality, challenging, international education – that we believe is important for our students.
On Thursday 27th February and Friday 28th February we are excited to welcome a school visiting team to ISR secondary campus to check if we have everything in order to be authorised to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). This is a two-year course which culminates in the award of a Diploma that is recognised worldwide for entry to universities. There are links below should you need more information or please feel free to contact the IBDP coordinator designate at: email@example.com
We have already submitted all the paperwork needed, but this is an opportunity for the team to interact with our teachers and our students to talk about our journey thus far. They will also see first hand our plans for next year.
Students and parents have met with faculty, curriculum coordinators and also administration so that together as a team we can help our students to make good choices and “achieve his or her potential”, in line with our mission statement.
In preparation for this we have also established a new tradition of weekly assemblies to celebrate our successes and also to recognise students and teachers who stand out as role models and advocates of the Learner Profile Traits.
It is a really exciting time in ISR’s history and we are blessed to have such a talented body of students and such collegial teachers who are all working together to help us reach this milestone in international education.
There are exciting times ahead!
* Only schools authorised by the IB Organisation can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme (DP), or the Career-related Programme (CP). Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorisation will be granted.
